About the Project
Construction of a new clarifier was undertaken, and Tankweld were tasked with assembling and installing all mechanical components for this clarifier. Including the centre tower, baffles, access bridge, scrapers, and the launder fit-out.
Project Challenges
The primary challenge we faced on this project was the limited window of access while installing the new clarifier. With multiple contractors on-site, all working to tight deadlines, it was imperative that Tankweld worked alongside and in partnership with other contractors to complete our scope of work within the available timeframe.
To achieve this outcome, we had to make sure our planning and scheduling were razor-sharp, with any delays held to an absolute minimum. Working alongside the civil contractors, we commenced installation works while some parts of the concrete for the clarifier were still being poured and completed our jobs within the deadline.
Working on a sloping floor inside the clarifier also presented some additional challenges that we overcame with innovative scaffolding and specialist elevated work platforms.
