The rural township of Lang-Lang is approx. 85 km southeast of Melbourne, Victoria. South East Water initiated construction works, building a new treatment facility to cope with the anticipated population rise in the area.

The primary contractor for South East Water had engaged Tankweld for site-wide mechanical installation of machinery, plant, fabrication and installation of stainless steel pipework, pipe supports, structural steel fabrications, walkways and access stairs.
Project Challenges
Faced with very tight delivery timeframes, the key to the success of this project lay in detailed planning right from the get-go. A meticulous eye for detail revealed problems and issues in time to find solutions without delaying the project deliverables.
Accurate scheduling was also essential, allowing Tankweld to precisely coordinate the fabrication, delivery and installation of all the different elements of the project package. Another efficiency Tankweld adopted for this project was a modular approach to walkways. These were delivered to the site already fitted out with pipework, handrails and grating. So, upon delivery, all that was required was to lift the walkway section into position and secure it to the structure. This time-saving methodology was instrumental in achieving the successful completion of the project.
